We exist to empower women and young people with disabilities by providing hands-on work experience, practical skill-building, and meaningful opportunities for personal and professional growth. About The Founders
Soulful Spreads is more than a café—it's a tribute to sisterhood, resilience, and the healing power of food. Founded by Tia, who comes with her teaching background and years of experience as a community worker and co-founded by Noshi – a Master in Holistic Health and Wellness and a passionate advocate in creating safe spaces for community.
Soulful Spreads was born from a deep personal journey shaped by love, laughter, and lived experience.
Growing up in Nairobi in a lively home of five sisters, —Two of whom live with lifelong disabilities; one has endured the unpredictable rhythms of epilepsy since childhood, while the other lives with fibromyalgia and other chronic health conditions that bring pain to every inch of her body. Despite these hurdles and being wheelchair bound, our sister Naeem earned herself a university degree and serves with dignity and strength on the Bench as a Magistrate today.
At the heart of our family is our sister Bushrah, whose spirit lights up any room. Living with chronic stress issues has never dimmed her joy; her humour, warmth, and strength has kept us going. Her resilience wrapped in laughter taught us that joy can be the loudest form of strength.
Now in Melbourne, we see the same quiet struggles faced by women and young people with disabilities—feeling overlooked, underestimated, or excluded. So we created something different.
