About the Program

Are you a young person or woman aged between 16 and 25, with a disability looking to build confidence, learn new skills, and gain real-world work experience in a welcoming and supportive environment?

Soulful Spreads - a social enterprise - is more than just a café. We're a purpose-driven enterprise based at Tarneit Community Learning Centre, dedicated to empowering women and young people with disabilities through hands-on hospitality work experience.

No experience needed - just bring your enthusiasm and willingness to learn!

Eligibility & Requirements

Who Can Apply

Young people and women aged 16-25 years with a disability who are interested in building skills and gaining work experience in hospitality.

General Eligibility Criteria

Participants should:

  • Have an interest in hospitality or food service (e.g., preparing food, customer service, working in a team)
  • Be able to follow basic instructions, with or without support from a mentor, supervisor, or support worker
  • Be capable of engaging in light physical tasks (e.g., serving, light cleaning, or moving short distances – with accommodations if needed)
  • Be open to learning new skills in a supportive and inclusive environment

Participants are welcome to attend with their own support workers if required.

NDIS-Friendly Program

This program is suitable for NDIS participants who have goals aligned with:

  • Building skills in hospitality, food service, or customer engagement
  • Increasing independence and confidence through real café work experience
  • Participating in the community and forming social connections
  • Developing vocational and daily living skills like time management and communication

We welcome participants with NDIS plans under the Capacity Building category.
